What is Your Path? Non-specific personal Paganism

About Me I'm a tree-hugging, vegetarian poet. I've been married for 13 years and my husband and I have 2 cats. I'm currently going back to school part time to complete my Master's Degree in English. I write for Llewellyn annuals and have published a number of poems as well.

Music I like a huge variety of music - Rock, Jazz, Celtic, Classical and some Techno/industrial and metal. Favorite bands/musicians include: Collide, Claire Voyant, Loreena McKennitt, Alice In Chains, Evanescence, Led Zeppelin, Norah Jones, Diana Krall, the Cranberries, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Tori Amos, Beth Orton, Heather Nova, Nickelback, music from the 80s, Matchbox Twenty, the Goo Goo Dolls, the Chieftains, U2, Miles Davis, and I love movie soundtracks. The only country music I like is some stuff by Allison Moorer and the Dixie Chics. I love Baroque music and new age meditation stuff. I used to play clarinet and piano.

Movies There are too many to name...Recent favorites include "What the Bleep do we Know?" and "The Holiday." I love documentaries, romantic comedies, action/adventure, science fiction, thrillers and drama. Pretty much everything but slasher films -and some of them are OK, too. All-time faves include "The Crow," "Stigmata," and classics like "French Kiss," and "City Slickers." Of course, I love the Harry Potter movies (although the books are better) and all the LOTR films (again, the books are better). And sshh...I just love those classic Disney animated fairytales - especially Beauty and the Beast!

TV Favorite shows past and present include The Simpsons, Medium, Friends, That 70s Show, WKRP in Cincinnati (remember that one?), Sex and the City, Real Time with Bill Maher, Whose Line is it Anyway, and a bunch more that I know I'm forgetting. I can't stand reality shows. I also love any type of science program (Discovery Channel, National Geographic, etc.)

Books I love non-fiction books about science and spirituality and the study of mythology. For escape reading, I enjoy fantasy and contemporary fiction. Favorite authors (classic and contemporary) include: Barbara Kingsolver, Elizabeth Gilbert, Tolkien, David Eddings, Pattiann Rogers, Poe, Emerson, Deepak Chopra, Virginia Woolf, and too many more to recall at the moment.

Likes I love nature - especially the woods and mountains - and trees of all kinds in all seasons. I collect stones and crystals. I enjoy gardening - especially herbs and flowers. I love dark chocolate, coffee, tea, dry red wine (the Norton grape is my favorite) and I enjoy Mexican and Italian dishes. I love cheese but hate milk. I love spring and fall but hate hot, humid summers. I like cool mountain air and snow. I like looking at water but I'm not fond of swimming. And if you've read this far, you're either really bored or we have a lot in common! My favorite colors are in the cool spectrum, blues, purples and greens, but I also love burgundy and a little pink. I also like black, silver, gray and brown. I love to sing in the car and I love to dance (not in the car).

Dislikes I don't like people who drive around with bass-thumping stereos that rattle my windows. I can't stand the sound of screaming kids. People who litter make me angry and I really hate it when people don't recycle even when there's a bin right next to the trash can. I really hate developers who cut down every single tree and then name the development something like "The Oaks."

Hobbies writing poetry, soap and candle making, photography, jewelry making, card stamping, hiking, camping, yoga, collecting gems and minerals.

Virtues patience...

Heroes Princess Diana comes to mind right away, and I can't forget H.D. Thoreau, and most recently Al Gore, for his dedication to environmental issues even before the "Green" movement...more to come...

Hi Everyone,

I'm Ember and I'm new to covenspace. I'm just starting to set up my page and wanted to post to say hello. I'm 35, female, married, and I live in the Midwest. I'm a Wiccan/pantheist, and I'm looking forward to meeting some kindred spirits here!
